Ticket prices
First Class (parlor suite) £870/$4,350 ($50,000 today)
First Class (berth) £30/$150 ($1724 today)
Second Class £12/$60 ($690 today)
Third Class £3 to £8/$40 ($172 to $460 today)

The inquiries into the sinking led not to the conclusion that the liner nor captain or staff was responsible. But as always the cruise operator is liable to the passengers no matter what happens, including that they lost the ship which they only insured for 3/4th of its value is in its self a punishment hit hard, Whitestar merged with Cunard and the name collapsed in the years to come.

After the sinking of Titanic the White Star Line was still a popular shiping line.

On the 26th June 1914 the over 56,000 tons Hamburg-Amerika Line ship Bismarck was launched in Germany.

During World War One she was left "rusting" at the ship yard.

When the war ended she was surrendered to Britain as war compensation and acquired by White Star, completed in 1922 and renamed Majestic.

Majestic was the worlds largest ship until 1935.

By 1930 White Star was having realy bad finacial troubles mostly due to the depression.

On the 10th of May 1934 Cunard and White Star merged together and Cunard bought the last remaining shares of White Star in 1957.
