Indeed that's true, and all of which can be rectified if it's refurbished. But I was more empliying the story, than the picture quality etc

A movie isn't better simply because it is in color.

The story is much better in A Night to Remember.

That's what I thought to.

I'm surprised that people are "fans" of the Titanic don't know about this movie. It is only about 50 years old.

Its about a ship that . . . . well.

Its told in almost a documentary style. Using only facts as they were known then. Watching the criterion collection allows for the understanding of the symbolism used in this movie.

It tells the story of the ship and the events that lead to its sinking, it isn't a backstory for two people.
if its documentary is there any main caracters

hey all just wanted to say, that i have seen all four of the titanic movies, (i think theres only 4) anyways if not ive seen four. I would have to say that the 1997, one was the best. In my opinion the one made in the 50's sucked. it may have been more accurate, but i thought the acting sucked, and the fact that it was like a documentary, made it really boring. the 1997 one, was made much better, not only because of the advances in technology, but because of the love story. Someone on here said that the thought people probably only went to see the film because it was about the titanic. that may have been for some people, but for me and a lot of ppl it was because it had Jack and Rose. i doubt the movie would have been such a huge success if it was only about the titanic. and althought im all for correct facts and everything, which as far as i know the 1997 film, was pretty acurate, i htink the fact that there were more made up things in it made it all that much better.

IMHO, the 1958 movie "A Night To Remember" is by far and wide the best Titanic movie EVER, bar none !!! I don't think any Titanic movie will ever out do this one. This movie was based on the facts, and not created as a spin off of the truth with a built in love story (Jack & Rose). Don't get me wrong, I truly enjoyed the 1997 movie, which if you look closely is considerably derived off of A Night To Remember, except with the love spin. But, the 1958 movie in my opinion is the the creme de la creme of Titanic movies. Kenneth Moore played a very convicing role as Second Officer Lightoller.
