originally they had enough lifeboats to save everyone on board, but as you know they removed many of them. as i have posted elsewhere, the steel that they used back then wasn't very good.

Perhaps, for you see the still as has have already said it was not of high quality, by today’s standards, but then it was acceptable. If the steel was bad, then it was weak, couple that, with the cold water, britiling the steel, and the fact it steel was no more than an inch (2.5cm) thick. Then all theses contributing factors add to the outcome. But I still think she would have foundered.

actually bell, that's where you are wrong. the titanic's hull steel didn't meet modern day standards

Actually, I never said it did, I said it did not meet today's standards. What I did say however was for 1912 the steel used was perfectley acceptable.
