I dunno. I don't believe in salvaging although I do believe one thing should be taken as a memory. Ballard would be best to make that decision. even if they took it, made a replica of it and returned it to the wreck site it'd still work, maybe a coin or something. take it, make a copy of it and return it to where it was

I don't agree. We should either salvage or not salvage. Reach a concensus for God's sake! and why would you want to make replicas of artifacts that you return to the wreck later on? All you'll end up with is alot of fake objects and no one would be able to tell the difference...

I say salvage while we still can and before it all crumbles to bits!

Grave Robbers are the people who robbed ancient pharoh's burial sites with the intention of selling the loot they stole.
They did it only to benefit themselves.

People who bring up artifacts are trying to preserves the memory of the ship and it's passengers.
RMS Titanic Inc. are the only people with legal authorization to dive down to the Titanic with the intention of bringing up artifacts.
They take careful measures to preserve the items they bring up, and are very much dedicated to the memory of the Titanic and all it's passengers.
They are not grave robbers at all.

I've said it many times in the past, and I'll say it again now... had I lost a family member on that ship, I would never want their possessions rotting on the bottom of the ocean.
I would want them in a museum, for people to learn from the disaster itself, and to connect with the people who died on it and not just treat it like something that's so surreal they can't even fatham what those poor people must have gone through.

Salvage is a debatable subject. I also saw the exhibit and I must say that the objects did not speak to me as the pictures of the debris field did... Somehow is a picture of a pair of shoes on the ocean floor more poigniant that the shoes behind glass in an exhibit...

I disagree with the pahros thing. Grave robers can and will rob a grave if there is a change of money, but not to my knowledge anyone keeps a 20 in there pocket just incase lol

But some artifacts that are recovered DO go on to be sold, one very recently at an auction, it fetched a princly some.

I disagree with it, and that is my view

I agree! Selling artifacts from the wreck is immoral. There shouldn't be a price value on any artifacts. Shouldn't it be kept in a museum?
