well, i think titanic is going to dissapear one day.. but, man is the one responsable of her remaining time...
i mean, the expeditions make titanic be weaker more and more.. i think we must let her rest... in my opinion, titanic is just as person that dies and people must show respects to it... yes i do think 8 years is incorrect... 15-30 years is more correctly lol but still think that is incorrect also... cyaaa |

There are many parts of Titanic that will be down there for centuries, and even eons. They may become covered, but they will still be there.

I doubt any one has the technology to accuratly predict the time for iron to start and decay.
There is many layers in Iron one of the many reasons for using iron in so many buildings process. By 1912 the iron making industry had basically "cracked" if you like the fundimentals of iron extraction and iron making. You may think that they have been using iron since the late stone age but. Since then iron production come on leeps and bounds and the production prcoess has hardlies changed since the 1900. I predict a maximum of 30 years before the "Inner" core of the iron is penertrated by the various bacteria that live and thrive on the bacteria inside the iron. The storboard bow has started to corrode and the outer shell has started to crumble. I would like to explain though that as iron crumbles and corodes the compacting materials will strengthen the structure for maybe 2-3 years at the maximum. Many artefacts will survie long after our life time. And by then most objects will have been covered by the dense silt which also helps preserve relics of certain composistion. I could go into various compounds which would survie in these cold and acidic conditions. But i think many of you are thinking i am a big enough nerd already. Thanks S-Park. If you have any questions or i have not explained my delf enough please tell me. |

On the movie the Titanic. They pull the safe up right.
The safe is made from irone exact same composition of the Titanic. The safe is in by no means fragile and even has to be cut open with an angle grinder! Please do not misinterprate this post. I am not saying the safe is real.(it is a movie prop) The safe though does give you some idea of the molecular structure and "structural-Soundeness" of the ship if you like. Iron ore has many impurities, the objective of iron ore extraction is to remove the ore with as few a impurities as possible. The removal of these impurites will give the iron a longer life span and will make the iron stronger. Dont get me wrong the Titanic is in a very fragile state, Yes. As i have metioned before iron has many layers, this is partly down to the impurities in it. The more impurities there are the more "flakey" if you like the Iron becomes. By the 1900's the iron making idustry had become very good at producing iron objects of large scale with ten times the life span of the earlier products made. i agree that the Titanic has a maximum of 25 years before it collapses in on itself. There is 3 and 3 quater tons per square inche "crushing the Titanic. I hope you can see by these figures how strong and how well made the tiatanic was. Many people talk of the Titanic as a "Fragile Shell". Forgetting the many bulkheads witch support the ship. These bulkheads will have been badly corroded by now but they will still have most of there strength. Please forgive any spelling erros as i do not have time to prove read. |
