Debbie this Subject Started on 2005/4/24 I was just wondering why it took you a YEAR to answer such an easy question I thought maby you only had acces to the Internet at easter?! but anyway if you are the great source of information that we should look to for help with our quiestions you should really try to speed up youre replys!!! Also before anyone argues with youre answer can we check where you reaserched it?! I'm sure you didn't pluck a country out of fresh air, so I just thought I would like to know where you get youre information from as many books/publications often contradict each-other etc. I usualy reaserch in loads of diffrent areas first!

Actually, White Star Line was owned in USA by J.P. Morgan, bank tycoonist.
And here's a question, what is the exact number of lightbulbs on the Titanic? (Please don't take a year with this one...) |

John Pierpont Morgan formed the International Mercantile Marine Co. in 1902. The International Mercantile Marine Company took control of the Dominion, Atlantic Transport, Leyland, White Star, and Red Star shipping lines. It was most famous for its funding of the construction of the RMS Titanic which was owned by the company's White Star Line. Basically Morgan thought that combining several shipping companies under one roof would make much more money, so he did just that. The company fell apart in 1925.
