That looks like Titanic to me, with the enclosed forward part of the A-Deck promenade.

I believe that's Titanic undergoing trials.

Same here.

The ship is the Titanic however the photo has been retouched and altered. Notice the usual smoke at #A & #B? Look #c at the brush strokes done by some PhotoShop or Paint program with some type of cloning tool. I enlarged the picture so you may see it isn't a real photo. The actual picture is located at http://www.budman.u-net.com/sgsweb/titanic.htm

You might notice the unrealistic cable diameter between the ship and tugboat? It's fake also. There are many photos that are altered or retouched of the Titanic.

That photo even fooled Wikipedia Encyclopedia. Things aren't always as they appear.

Below is a enlargement of that photo.

You're right it is a fake! But when I looked at it the first time I was sitting in a dark room.

Rather than try to argue semantics, I'll just say it's fake, 'cause it is. I just didn't know. I can't even remember encouterin' that pic 'til earlier this month.

Even the movie clip shown here on the groups Movie Clip section is a altered tape. If you look carefully at the names on the back of the tugboats you will notice that they were frame by frame scratched out where the tug's name is. The ship is actually the Olympic. By hiding the escort tugs name it the bcome. It makes IDing the actual ship hard if you can't place a tug with a certain ship.

Notice the name on the tugs

Oh yeah, I've seen that footage of Olympic in various documentaries. Whoever did the frame by frame doctoring of that footage didn't even bother to touch it up neatly, just scratched it right out. It's my understanding that that was done in an effort to get more footage that could be passed off as Titanic footage.

I wonder why that photo of Titanic during its trials was (computer) edited, though...

I have numerous pieces of footage of the Olympic that was doctored to pass it off for Titanic from back in the early 1900's when footage of a ship to pass off as the Titanic were needed. Some footage of Capt Smith aboard a ship reported as the Titanic was also doctored in the same manner to promote Capt Smith's adventures aboard the Titanic. Which were never filmed during his command aboard the Titanic.

I'm sure the photo was altered to increase it's value as a "rare" find and sold for profit. Amazing it was actually a amature touch up job that fooled many.

Now the market is being flooded with fake survivor signatures and computer generated copies of photos and post cards of the Titanic.

They also try to pass maurtania and lusitania off as Titanic aswell, but still most dont notice, she had 4 funnels and that's close enough for most people.
