Yes because every time she thought about the heart, she thought of Cal.

I think that rose did the right thing. I mean, I would have done the same thing if it were in my hands. Yes, she could have sold it and used the money to help people, but as the alternet ending on the special edition says, "I could have sold the necklace, but I didn't want a ny help from Cal. I wanted to do it on my own" so she is basicly saying the she wanted to be independent. In my opinion if she would have sold it, then most likely there would be fights over who would get the heart of the ocean. maybe it would have ended up in a museum, but who knows. like I stated eariler, I would have returned it to the Titanic rest site because it really did need to go down with the ship. I know that the necklace is also linked to Jack, but if you think about it, the necklace is what got Jack locked up in the bottom of the sinking ship in the first place! The necklace is also linked to Cal, and in my opinion, Rose wanted nothing to do with Cal. She wanted to live out her life, accomplish her dreams, and keep her promise that she made to the dying Jack (which is still sad and depressing that they had to kill him!!??). So I think that it was good that she returned the heart of the ocean back to the bottom of the North Atlantic. Well, I guess I'm done blabbering my mouth!!!LOL!
