yes, captain smith died with his ship. as did mr. andrews, the ship's builder. and it makes me mad that mr. ismay, who owned the white star line, didnt....

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong with any of that info...it's been a couple of years since i've read about the titanic and i'm just starting to get back into researching it...

Smith died on board Titanic, however eye witness acounts conflict, some people say he died in the bridge, like how the 97 film portraid, or there are accounts that he carried a baby to a life boat, asked if there was room for him, he was told no, then he swam away, one or two people said that when the expansion joint colapsed that caused funnel 1 to fall over, they say he was crushed by that, take your pick i dont know how he really died, though I think its the bridge one.

Could you kindly let us know which survivors made these two claims? (I'm not aware of any who did so.) Thanks very much.

UUHHH duh he died. It was his last till retirment soo he just i guess decied to die on the ship.
