Should Rose and Jack have had sex on the Titanic to enhance the story? Was it really neccessary? I think the movie might have offended many people because of the sex scenes on the back seat of a car no less!

Yes, but not to enhance the love story. Cameron said even though he knew there was no way they could have gotten into the cargo hold from the boiler rooms, he felt he had to do that scene to expose more of the ship to the veiwers.
Everything he did, that many people think was a mistake, was all done for a very good and calculated reason. |

Yeah maybe they should have. But then again, could Cameron not have thought of a more classy location on the ship than the back seat of a car? Maybe it's just the romantic side in me speaking. But maybe another setting might have been better. Alot of older people went to watch the movie and I never heard them complaining about the intimate scene in the cargo hold. Maybe most of them were to old to remember what the scene was actually about...lol!

I don't really think it was neccessary. u don't have to have sex with someone to prove u love them. besides. all of rose's "little babies" probly got froxen before they even had achance to start growing. I just don't think it was neccessary and that there wasn't really a need for it

Like I said, Cameron didn't do it to show love between them, although it did convey it.. he did it to show a part of the ship that wouldn't be shown otherwise.
Had they been on the real ship, there was no possible way to get into the cargo hold they way they did. There wasn't a door between the boiler room they were in and the cargo room the way the were shown entering. Like I said also, Cameron KNEW that, but he did it despite that. |

Yeah, there are worse places to do it than the back seat of a car. Depends on the car I suppose... A Mercedes has more space than a an old Fiat. lol! Not that I'd know of coarse.

I'm just telling you his rashoning for that scene as per what he said in a book.
He probably coul dhave shown another part, but I think he liked the car, so that's why he had them do it there. |
