What would you have done? I'd probably dress in my best if I was a passenger, try to help the other passengers and, when that wave rolled on deck, head into the Grand Stairway and wait for the end. I may have gone to the First-Class Lounge or Smoking Room and waited. If I had time I'd help the officers. If you went to the Smoking Room and the Grand Stairway was underwater there would be no turing back. In the Smoking Room there was no other way out but through the Grand Stairway.
As an officer I would have done my duty to the end. As the captain, I would have gone down in the wheelhouse or open bridge. |
