Hello everyone,

Im new to the forums. Just spent the better part of the morning looking through a lot of these posts. So very interesting. I have always loved the history of the Titanic.

When I was in second grade I signed a Titanic book out from my schools library, Ive been hooked ever since. The Titanic also opened many doors for myself with all history. Okay rambling...

On to my question.

I read in one of the posts that someone here is a distant realitive to a person whom was on board the Titanic. Above all the hub-bub and the stories of "Molly Brown" and all the other famous people on board.. I want to know about the untold stories.

Does anyone have any stories that they have learned about?

Thanks in advance for any time that is put into typing out the stories and giving information. Im like a sponge, I cant get enough!

Hi. I understand your love of the untold story. I am seeking more information about a couple of passengers, who booked third class passage, even though it was obviosly possible for them to have booked a higher class. The story involves a Mr. Samuel Risien and his wife, who were supposedly sailing third class to avoid being robbed, as they were reputedly carrying diamonds from a family mine in South Africa.
I would appreciate any and all responses to their story and others as well.
As I told you in a PM, I will be forwarding the information that I possess on this couple to you, for your examination and edification.

i am distantly related to Bess Allison who was one of four first class women to perish. she died with her husband and little daughter, her son survived only to die from Ptomaine poisoning in 1929. thats how i got interested in Titanic.

Wow, arent you a needle in a hay stack. Not many people can say what you just said. I mean no offence of course.

I wish more people had stories. Im so interested in it. :(

no offence taken Shalyre,
my interest in Titanic lies mainly with the passengers and crew, i love researching them, many of whom had very interesting lives.

Have you uncovered anything about their lives? Anything you wish to share? Anything that struck you are overly interesting or affected you in some way?
