Hello,

Was anyone else there for the Historical Society's screening of _A Night to Remember_ at Cleveland Circle in Brookline, MA about 10 years ago? (I sat next to one of them, actually-- she said the whistle didn't sound like that!) I think I know who one of them was, but does anyone know their names for sure? Obviously, they are no longer living.

aj,
who was the one you sat next to?, if you like i can find out which survivors were still alive about 10 years ago. were the three survivors all female or mixed?
there are three survivors still alive today:
[u:64e0b05dbd]Millvina Dean [/u:64e0b05dbd]who was 9 weeks old at the time, she was rescued with her brother and mother but lost her father.
[u:64e0b05dbd]Lilllian Asplund[/u:64e0b05dbd] who was 5 years old at the time, she was rescued with her mother and 3 year old brother, sadly her father and three young brothers (one of them her twin), died.
[u:64e0b05dbd]Barbara Dainton (nee West) [/u:64e0b05dbd] who was 10 months old at the time, she was rescued with her mother and sister, her father did not survive.
hope this is of some help :)

There was at least one man, and one woman with horn rimmed glasses who had been old enough to have accurate memories. I believe it was through the Springfield, MA based Titanic Historical Society, and for the anniversary of the sinking. The theatre was full so I'd be surprised if nobody turns up on the internet who was there...

here's a few people i found who could have been there:

1) Winnifred Vera Quick, born 23 jan 1904 died 4 july 2002.(she was 8 years)
2) Frank Aks born 7 jun 1911 died 15 jul 1991. (he was 10months)
3) Marjorie Newell, born 12 feb 1889 died 11 jun 1992 (she was 23 years)
4) Edith Eileen Brown, born 27 October 1896 died 20 January 1997(15 years)
5) Michel Navratil, born 12 June 1908 died 30 January 2001 (3 years)

if i find any more i'll let you know.
btw, i have given the women their maiden names so you might have known them by their married names. also Marjorie Newell, was living in Massachusetts around that time :)

Wow, nice work. Gee, even Michel? I wonder how far they would have traveled to Massachusetts (one of them must have been Marjorie!) or if they were local. I should look up their pictures or something...

Thanks,

A.

Wow, great, more sites to look at!

I've always thought that the pictures of Eva Hart look most like the lady nearby (I read her narrative) but I guess I should have asked her name. (I wonder what E.H. was up to at that point, anyhow.) Afterwards the lady was telling a whole group of people something, but I was too shy to speak up. I suppose the society members would have known... perhaps they have a record. I should have checked when I visited the museum.

Thanks! I helped get a young friend interested recently and he wanted to know about survivors.

A.J.
