I cannot remember exactly when I first got interested in Titanic, but it was before James Cameron's movie came out.

I could not find too many books, etc about Titanic in my area, so I got online and that is when I really became a Titanic Addict. The information available online was terrific and I met so many extraodinary people who also were interested in the subject.

Yeah, the internet is a PHENOMINAL source of info!
I love surfing sites and checking out the different Titanic info, but this is the first time I've actually joined a Titanic forum and met people that share my interest. I love it!!
:D :) :D

Starry,
Yes isn't it just great, the internet. There aren't any people in my area, that I know of who are interested in Titanic. So, this group is great for those of us, who love Titanic and research, etc.

I also am glad I found this site and all the interesting individuals on here

You sure don't bore me!!!
I have to admit I didn't start liking Titanic till the James Cameron film came out.
Me and my girlfriends had a sleep over and one of them brought Titanic.
[b:044120c4a8]I absolutely hate mushy things. I'm not a girly girl at all.
But by the end of the film I was balling[/b:044120c4a8].
Not because of the romance between Jack and Rose (that was just part of it), but because of all those people who died.
Ever since then I just wanted to know more and more about the Titanic.
I have short-term memory loss so I don't really remember any important info on the Titanic. But it's an awesome movie and I love the Titanic.

I vividly remember the first time I became interested in Titanic was when I was in the 4th grade, back in 1993. We had a substitute teacher that day and one of my friends picked up a book on the ship. I can't remember the name, but I remember it had absolutely beautiful illustrations by Ken Marschall. My friend asked the teacher what Titanic was and she told us the story of it. I was absolutely rivited. From that moment on, the tragic story has captivated me.

I'm from a sailing family so was brought up on the lore of the sea. Having actually seen boat sinkings when I was little (and was even pulled from the sea after being lost overboard for a day in a storm when I was 13), I was always enamoured by sunken ships and the 'underwater world' and longed to be a shipwreck diver (which I ultimately became).

My older brother read 'Night to Remember' when we were kids and told me all about it (very tender age then). I was totally fascinated by all that opulence just crashing to the sea floor and of man's hubris put to ruin. To me Titanic became the ultimate shipwreck!
From there the study and the research has taken a life of it's own.

What else can I say?
