This question comes out of another discussion on the board here: http://www.titanic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=275 - if RMS Titanic does go under, and there is a museum established, where should it be?

The only thing left at Chelsea Pier in NYC is the Famous Cunar/White Star Line arch at 14/15th Street near 11th Avenue. Sad site to see. Broken down fences, crumblig walls and rotting piers or what is left of them. I think this pier where Titanic was scheduled to arrive back in April 16th, 1012 should have a great museum. Not just a few pictures on a wall which is now a Sports and Entertainment Complex

That's the idea. I've been down there, and you're right, it's dismal. A museum on the spot would be a [i:1310fe1bfa]big[/i:1310fe1bfa] improvement.

I think that they should have one in the US and one overseas.

The Titanic Historical Society museum is in Chicopee, Mass. It's small but "cherce".. I've not been to the one in Southampton.

I've been to the one in Southampton... There's some of the things from the Olympic there and a few things from passengers on the Titanic, one I can remember was a discharge booklet and a blanket...(we videotaped our trip there, need to pop it in and watch it)... I;ve got pics from it too..

I think they should put one in Holland, there is NOTHING Titanic related here (where she docked or whatever) but there is no exhibits or anything. The maritime museum doesn't have anything either (they use to but I think that was for a limited time).. I'd love to see an exhibit come here.
