Nothing about machinery, most of that didn't survive the sinking, and what did (and was brought up by RMS Titanic, Inc.) is not allowed to be sold at the moment. However, I did just hear the auction will be June 10th at South Street Seaport in New York City on June 10, with preview dates the 8th and 9th.

Latest on this is:
300+ lots, mostly original (i.e., vetted as the real McCoy) items, mostly [i:8bf2f95b4b]Titanic[/i:8bf2f95b4b] but some [i:8bf2f95b4b]Olympic[/i:8bf2f95b4b], [i:8bf2f95b4b]Carpathia, Republic,Empress of Ireland, Andrea Doria[/i:8bf2f95b4b] and [i:8bf2f95b4b]Morro Castle[/i:8bf2f95b4b] stuff. All price ranges, which means stuff for under $50 to the moon's the limit. At least four collections of [i:8bf2f95b4b]Titanic[/i:8bf2f95b4b]/other ships in their entirety. "The largest [i:8bf2f95b4b]Titanic[/i:8bf2f95b4b] sale ever held" A guy I know is trying to coordinate a dinner on June 9 with other Titaniacs - pm me if you're interested. |

This just in: The catalogue will be $40.00, which will allow two people to get into the auction and the preview. Preview to be two days before the auction.
This book will be a collectable in its own right, as it will be lavishly illustrated, and will be written by none other than Eaton & Haas themselves (it don't get any better than that!) You do not [i:aa25cfc63a]have[/i:aa25cfc63a] to attend the auction, you can just get the book. I'll ask what the addy is so you guys can send away for it. According to my sources, there will be "many" items that are expected to go into the $100 - $200 range. |

The site has been updated with some more information, so you might want to check back. They're also talking about having some phone bidders, and the possibility of on-line auctions. I'll be keeping an eye out too. http://www.guernseys.com
