Everyone wanted to do something special for the anniversary of [i:3894c79e22]Titanic[/i:3894c79e22]'s sinking, so we're doing a new thread - what do [i:3894c79e22]you[/i:3894c79e22] find so special about the great ship?

[i:71ad7fa5f6]OK????[/i:71ad7fa5f6]

For me, she is an instant frozen in time - all those people, customs from a hundred different nations, not to mention a rainbow of classes; all that beauty, all those individual stories. With study and a bit of dedication, you can tease all this out into the sunshine again, to learn and read and admire. That's what's special to me.

To me it is simple. Titanic was the best that could be built, the quintescence of man's achievements, with the best people aboard--of all classes--and yet....

I am totally fascinated by all that opulence just crashing to the sea floor and of man's hubris put to ruin. To me Titanic is the ultimate shipwreck!

What I think I love most about Titanic is the mystery and the disbelief, I guess. The mystery that somehow something, someday will surface and we will all be amazed. The disbelief that a dinosaur of a ship could sink just by hitting an iceberg.

I am always researching looking for that special something that might surface one day and tell us something new

And I love the what ifs that keep people intrigued.

well i'm still learning about Titanic, but i just love the beauty of her, you dont get ships like that anymore. and just the utter sadness that all those people lost their lives and the fact that you see pictures of this beautiful creation, rusting away at the bottom of the ocean and nobody wants to do anything to even try to stop.
