why didn't Jack say "I Love You" back to Rose at the end of the movie? that confuses me a lot. if he truly did love her he would've said it back. maybe it's becuz he thought that he'd live through it and didn't think he'd get hypothermia. but he was wrong cuz hypothermia was the cause of his death. please correct me if i'm wrong!

cause he didnt want her to think that he was going to die to. he wanted to be strong for her. my grandma came over here on the SS Constutution's maidin voyage. wow that was random.

Just because he didn't want to become all that a "Goodbye scene". I think that he thought "If I say I love you back, Rose will be satisfied to die..." And actually that's what I think, too.

I mean, Rose was about to die - she was on that wooden door in the freezing cold and had no reason to live anymore... She just wanted to make sure that Jack knew she loved him, and that he loved her, too. If he had done nothing than saying yes, she would have thought: "Uhm, okay, he knows I love him, and he loves me, too, so I can go now..." Jack knew what she thought then, and he instantly tried to make her "go on" ("Promise me, now, Rose." and so on).
