rose ive read that same thing that you just said. but i thnk it might be true. i mean if the damage was that bad, nobody but the WSL would know. but if they were prepared for the ship to sink, why would they transfer passengers and crew from other WSL ships?

Hi! Since the Olympic was surveyed by an independent surveyor, whose assessment was agreed by both the Navy and the WSL, certainly if the damage had been very bad other companies as well as the WSL would know, and other individuals. Also H&W would know, since they inspected the ship. Best, Mark. |

In my opinion, too many people would have to have known.

Hi Rose! The other part of what? [quote:acde524a98]and mark, too many people would be, the workers in H&W and the WSL workers. nobody else NEEDED to know how bad the hole in the olympic was.[/quote:acde524a98] I don't understand what you're saying at all. Are you saying that the H&W and WSL employees would be too many to keep quiet? If so, I agree with you. With regard to need, it's a point that could be endlessly debated. Suffice to say, I don't think that it could have been kept quiet. Best regards, Mark. |

no what i tried to say was that only the people who repaired the ship and who owned the ship were those who need to know about the change if there was any. and that was all the people that the WLS needed to bribe if they really did switch the ships. bet that didnt make much sense, did it? im sure it didnt because i lost what i was saying somewhere in the middle, bc im watching tv and then i tried to pick up. im sorry. :D

Hi! I see what you're saying now. While I agree, I do think that the number of people required to carry out repairs would have been too many to be able to keep quiet -- even with bribery. There are also a very large number of workers who would have known the little-remarked-upon differences between the two ships and would have noticed. I know that a range of people have different opinions on this. Kindest regards, Mark. |
