Most likely would have worked. But then the rest of the movie wouldn't have worked out right. In real life, yea sure, they woulda tried it. But, for movie effects, they can't because then it'll change the outcome of the movie.

I swear I think people put too much thought into "What if Jack lived", "why didn't Rose share the wood"... the movie would not have been the same had Jack lived, it's as simple as that..

Not really because IMO I think the movie could have done better with a little LESS of the Jack + Rose story. Plus, I'm into Titanic for what it truly is.
And if Jack had survived then it'd be the typical "Fairy tale ending" and I highly doubt it'd been as popular as it was. |

No need to get pouty over it. Just because I placed my opinion and it's simply that, an opinion and got others who agree with me, that's not a reason to fuss over it.
You see, the thing is, we are into the historical part of the ship and don't think so much as to "what if Jack lived". It's a simple and logical answer, you'd have the typical fairy tale ending and the movie wouldn't been such a hit. I enjoy the movie, infact that's what got me into the Titanic, however after I saw the film and started studying the ship more, my fasination for the actual ship has outgrown my fasination for the fictional part of the movie |
