It would have worked in reality but jack dieing was really sad and i wish they could have both survived and lived happily ever after.but the film wouldn't be the same if jack didn't die

it was sad but thats part of what made the movie famous - it didnt have a happy ending.

very true...it probably was expected for everything to turn out o.k. and for jack and rose to live "happily ever after",but it would have changed the movie....i will admit tho to thinking that they both could have fit on that door....or took turns or something lolol

I think that one of the main character had to die to make more intersting this Movie.

I believe the fact of Jack dying gave more depth to the movie. I'm not a big fan everything having seen it once but it also gave Rose room to grow into her own. The whole story of the ship is indeed a tragedy and for them both to live would not have truly given a demonstration of what Titanic was. Titanic was a great tragedy and if there had been a happy ending though bittersweet it would have been, it would never have conveyed the full emotion.

all though it is sad Jack had to kick the bucket, you are right. It gave the movie more depth. She should have not gotton married though!  Quote: |
