Jack dying was very sad but it made the movie great. I think that Rose should have gotten pregnant by jack. That would have been cool. Don't you think?

well if that had happened it would have sent a bad message to the lets face it mass female teen party that brought in a lot of the movies gross.

ive always thought about that part. its true that he could have gone on it if they balanced it right. i wonder why jack only tried once to get on. i would have tried a bunch. just to get a chance to live.

If i were rose, on the floating headboard, i would have given Jack my life jacket since he was the one in the water. wouldn't you?

I agree it would of been nice for Jack and Rose to survive at the end of the movie and then they would probably get married but the whole idea of the movie is to lose Jack so that the old Rose returns to the Titanic when she dies in her sleep. That's what the song " My heart will go on" means as its one heart (Rose) who keeps Jack alive through the secret of the memories she has for Jack as she says that to her granddaughter when she says that a woman's heart has many secrets. Its supposed to show that the disaster can take away a person you love but they will always stay in your heart forever until you die and then you get to see them for all eternity like when Rose dies and goes to the wreckage and you see all the people in the ship who died and she meets Jack at the clock on the stairs. Its a romance of longing for the one you loved. That's why Jack had to die as Rose promised Jack to not give up as he knew that they would be together one day...not in this life but in a spiritual life for all time. It would of been nice for them both to survive but that's not how James Cameron wanted to end the movie as he wanted his two main characters to fall in love and Jack saved Rose from many things and he wanted them to be together at the end when Rose died and could see Jack again. That's why she tossed the necklace into the ocean as the heart of the ocean for Rose is Jack and she knew that he was there waiting for her when she died in her bed at the end of the movie. I think its a beautiful way to end a movie even though those characters were never really on the actual Titanic. It was a lovely romance to show that the Titanic was a ship of dreams.
