do you know what i just realized? i knew that the accident between the hawke and the olympic happened but i didnt know when. i think that this radio arguement doesnt really help because that early in the stadge of furnishing the titanic (if that was even started) they couldve put anything that was supposed to be on the titanic on her sister. and they didnt have to take anything out of olympic since she had less luxuries than her sister.

it is true that the titanic wouldve still had a long life, but it wouldve been under a false name.

Okay here is a die hard fact for you if they did switch the titanic with the olympic including the name of the ship on the side then the titanic and the olympic would have been legally changed so if the name on the side of the ship said titanic then the titanic is still the one that sank on april 15,1912. if you change the name of the ship then that is its name for always there after.it would not matter want it was when it was built so ether way the titanic sank.

Hi Tom,just stumbled across your comments here re Olympic's collision with HMS Hawke.Our views seem to differ somewhat,i posted a report of the collision on my own website,and a lot of the facts came from a book about the Riddles of White Star.
The hawke actually hit the stern of the Olympic as photo's of the damage that i have posted to this site show. but none the less she , as you say could have been switched then but who Knows for sure.Has that mystery gone down with the Titanic. Booty :pint: :pint:
