Why is it that so many under-filled boats did not return and how long did that one boat wait take before it returned for survivors? (Also how long does it take for a person to die in the conditions that those people left in the water were submitted to?)

most people thought it was falses alarm. there was supposed to be a drill and thats why they didnt fill the boats up. when they actually understood what was going on they didnt go back because they thought that they would be turned around from the people or be sucked down with the ship.

no by the time they were in the life boats they knew the ship was sinking they didn't go back for fear that the lifeboats would be sunk by all the people in the water trying to climb onto them which was mostly true. but they should have returned sooner then they did. but mostly they should have had more life boats on that ship to begin with. :pint:

1. they were afriad of being pulled under
2. about 20 mins or more
3. if they were completely in the water 10 or 15 mins at the longest, if not 15-20 mins.

that is my best guess i am not precisely sure at this moment. I am sure I have it documented somewhere but i have so many files on the titanic
