There's not much reason to think Titanic was any bigger than Olympic. The H & W plans don't support this oft-repeated claim. Titanic had the greater GRT, but Olympic's was increased in her 1913 overhaul. As for speed, the two ships had the same propulsion plant, only Olympic's underwent later changes.

Yes, you are right Titanic is indeed heavier but faster, bigger, more luxery and the heaviness is actually from the boilers, kitchen equipment and the bulkheads which is greater in numbers and size. .

As you said that Titanic is a refit of Olympic. I do not agree because (ok they have the same looks) if you have read the books of the survivors Titanic is a lot bigger and a lot faster and I don't think both ships have the same Luxery. From a book I recently read 'Not really like Olympic, yes but so much more elaborate. That the dining salon - Olympic didn't even have a carpet but Titanic - ah, you sank in it up to your knees. And the ship is powered with more boilers and carry more lifeboats then the Olympic and with that much boilers Titanic could be a lot faster.

Olympic and Titanic shared all the same basic dimensions. Titanic had the greater gross tonnage, but only prior to Olympic's refit. Gross tonnage really isn't a measure of weight, though.
