And the title is great, too. It really was a night to remember, wasn't it? The German version of it is called "Die letzte Nacht der Titanic" which would mean, literally translated "The Last Night of Titanic". I like the original title much better.

Kathi,

have you seen the Titanic films made in Germany?

I know of two of them. One is called In Nacht und Eis, and it is a silent film made shortly after the disaster.

The other one, named "Titanic" was made in 1943 during World War II, and was a fictionalized version for anti- British propaganda.

Its very goofy but it is still entertaining for us who like to see how Titanic story was told over the years.

I know them both, but I never watch one of them. Do you know what In Nacht und Eis means?

Night and Ice, nicht war? (I used to take a little German in highschool, and took a trip down to Southern Germany with my German class.)

I've seen the 1943 version but not the silent film. Although it looks kind of interesting!

If you ever get the Titanic 1953 DVD from the United States, it has a documentary in the special features that goes over all the Titanic films, including the two German ones.
