It took @ 3 years to build the Titanic. Construction began in the spring of 1909 (Titanic's keel laid), and on May 31, 1911 Titanic slid down the slipways and into the water for the first time. Meanwhile, Olympic left on her maiden voyage on the same day. Titanic was furnished, and masts, boilers, and funnels were added. And the rest is history.
