Just to add, I have searched the Birth, Marriages and Deaths datebase and there is only one Percy Bell recorded as having been married and born (therfore registered) in the district Southampton with two others of the same name near but note the date of birth given and recorded on the Titanic.

So it seems the Percy bell grave in Southampton is that belonging to the one born and married there, all the dates match perfect with a small minnor detail.

For the birth (the match came back 99%) giving the year as 1894, the Titanic records state the Percy Bell who boarded gave his date of birth as 1893.

Now the date on the searches are of when the parents registered the birth and they are furthermore splint up into months of three e.g Jan Feb March births may be listed as Jan or even April.

Secondly I think it's worth mentioning that if Percy Bell thought he needed to be 18 to work on the titanic he would of had to say he was born little earlier i.e
1893 would only of made him 17 working on the Titanic
1894 would of made him 18.

I dont know if there was an age limit, just thought it was worth a mention.

The certificate for Percy Bell Registered at Southampton in 1894 is district 2c/page 8.

If you ordered a full copy it would give you parents names.

Percy Bell of Southampton married in 1916 to a lady of the Surname 'Boast', again in Southampton, again a full certificate would show her full name and age etc. (districe 2c/page 131).

It is almost certain that the Percy Bell birth reg 1894 is the one who married in 1916 (only match) and is the Percy Bell in the unmarked grave in Hollybrook cemetery, Lordswood, Lordshill, Southhampton.

The grave listing is listed as 'Titanic related', and the Percy Bell who boarded in Southampton, born simiular date and gave the address as Southampton seem to be the same person.
Copies of full certificates would verify further.

This would of made him 40.

I have found a few articles that say he was rescued but also a picture of the unmarked grave of Percy Ball in Hollybrook cemetery, Lordswood, Lordshill, Southhampton.

The sites says it belongs to Titanic related graves and describes Percy Ball as indeed a steward.

I am wondering if he was a titanic survivor but died later on.
There was also mention of a survivor named Percy Bell havind died at war but I have checked dates and they do not match, others confirmed this at the forums.

Encyclopedia Titanica has details of a Percy Ball and states;

"Mr Percy Ball was born in Southampton on 23 February 1893.

When he signed-on to the Titanic, on 4 April 1912, he gave his address as 7 Winsor Terrace, (Southampton). He had previously worked as a Cook but on the Titanic he was employed as a plates steward. As such he received £3 15s per month. The Titanic was his first ship and he came aboard at 6 a.m. on 10 April.

Ball was rescued (possibly in lifeboat 13)."

hi can any member help me i am trying to find out more about percy ball i have been told that my uncle was onboard the titanic when she sailed from southampton as a passenger but the only male onboard with the surname of ball was mr percy ball plate steward does anybody know what happened to him when he landed in new york city as i was also told that he did not survive if anyone knows of the where abouts of any living relatives it would be much appreciated
