Neil Jordan, Director of the NIFTC-assisted BREAKFAST ON PLUTO, has praised Northern Ireland as an excellent location for international film production. On location at the recently disused Maysfield Leisure Centre, Mr Jordan praised the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission for their investment in the production which he commented had resulted in the film being brought to Northern Ireland. The film is primarily funded by Pathe films who will also distribute the film and is greatly supported by the Irish Film Board.

The Canadian sub HMCS Chicoutimi sent a distress call around 5 october 2004 due to fire onboard in the engine room, The latest update shows that one sailor has died as well.
