Titanic was built in Belfast Ireland at the Harland and Wolff ship yard.
I guess you could say that the main designer of the Titanic would be Thomas Andrews. He went on board Titanic and did not survive the sinking. He was last seen in the smokeing room staring at a painting of Plymoth Harbor (as seen in the new movie if you have seen it). Early in Titanic's construction, Alexander Carlisle was the chief designer, but aparently he became frustrated from the project and left it. There were other designers and navel architects. Two names that come to mind are Edward Wilding and Roderick Chisolm. |

Thank you !
Is the person looked at the big clock when Titanic was sinking ? I have remembered him . I have a interesting question if the observers didn't watch Jack and Rose were kissing and find the iceberg in time , the Titanic would sink ? |

Thomas Andrews always made a point of sailing on the ship's maiden voyage with a garanteur group (I don't know the spelling, sorry). They would go through the ship and take notes of what was working and what could be improved upon. The guaranteur group consisted of 5 men, all perished. If anyone knew the Titanic inside and out it was Mr. Andrews, after checking the ship with Capt. Smith he immediatly knew it would not survive, he spent most of the night urging passengers into the boats and checking and closing portholes to help add even minutes to keep Titanic afloat. He had no intention of getting off the ship himself. He left a wife and daughter in Belfast.
