Hi, There is absolutely no way in this world that the Britannic would or could be raised to build a Titanic replica!!!! If they did manage to raise her, which I believe she would break into huge chunks on the way up to the surface. You have to take into account that the metal has been severely weakened being underwater all these years. She rests in water somewhere around 320ft, at this depth there are many more organisms that are eating her hull and superstructure alive. Remember Titanic is 2 1/2 miles down and there less organisms down there that eat the steel she is made of. The rusticles that you see hanging off her are the waste products of the organisms that are eating the steel. And if you want to talk about building a replica The cost would be astronomical!! There are many things to consider these days when it comes to safety. If you really want to talk to me more about this E-mail me and I will tell you about all the things that would be involved in making a working replica of Titanic.

gosh! i wish they would raise both ships! ive always wanted to meet a big liner in person. but if they build a new one what would they do to it. i wouldnt spend 800 millions to build a floating museum, and since they dont use ships anymore for transportation. i think cruising on a ship would be funner then going on an airplane. flying is boring! at least on a ship you can move around. plus they would have more bathrooms then airplanes do. even if they take a few days to cross.

It would be next to impossible to raise the Titanic herself. Do you realize how much it cost just to raise the small section that's sitting in the exibit in the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago? THe costs would be astronimical. On top of that, the bow is half-burried, and the stern is practically destroyed anyway. And the britannics only 300 ft down, but it would be much the same technology to bring it up, and it would be much too expensive, plus the hull's too weak so it would be pointless.

They should just make a replica to display it.

Wait... they made a replica for the movie, why not do it again?

They should do what I've said. Britannic is under 400 ft of water u can even swim down to it but it is dangerous even for experienced divers. Build a glass dome around it and do a sort of underwater musem of her. Most ppl dont know of the new technology of replenishing the steel in the wreck. This technology doest mean they could raise her but it would garentee another 40 years of her. Titanic could be replenished to but it's more difficult to do that.
