You would run into a lot of problems creating a replica of the Titanic, and here is why.
Ships are designed in certain ways to keep the afloat, much like building an airplane in order to keep it aloft. Technology has changed over the last 95 years and ships would not use 2 dozen boilers anymore. They'd use 3 or 4 gas turbines which are much smaller and lighter. This alone would change the center of gravity of the ship. This massive change alone would make it incredibly difficult to keep the ship the same height simply because it would then become top heavy. This is just one aspect of things that have changed. There are dozens that I'm not thinking of and dozens more that I have no idea about. It would be a novelty, but after a couple years, its ability to hold people's interest wouldn't be there, and what would you do with the ship other than the week of April 10-15th of every year? |
