Yes well it was rather long, so if anything it may bore them, certainly not me though, i enjoy reading posts on this site.
Anyway, I think that the open window's on Britannic played a big role in the speed of the sinking, does anyone agree. |

Easter's tomorrow. do you guys celebrate it at a different time than us? I just glanced through your post Johno, but I have heard different theories about the sinking of her. The mine one is the most popular, but I've heard of the possibility that she may have been hit by a torpedo. Have either of you two heard this theory?

Yes I have heard of that, there is also another Idea that the cargo was ignited causing an explosion. This would be down to the fact that Britannic many times brechead the convention.

Hello Bell,
*Idea that the cargo was ignited causing an explosion* Since a 1999 exploration revealed that the cargo holds were largely empty, it's a much-discredited idea. As always, it depends on your views. However, it seems likely that a cargo explosion -- if one had occured -- would have been deduced from the wreck's condition. It hasn't. *This would be down to the fact that Britannic many times brechead the convention.* She was certainly alledged to have breached the Geneva convention, by Germany. Whether she did is another matter for debate. Best wishes, Mark. |
