The parts that did it to me are numerous...I guess the whole movie was very emotional..."Unable to stay, unwilling to leave", the mother with her two babies, the old couple, Jack's death of course...But the end of the movie, seeing how Rose made a life for herself based on the strength that a young man gave to her, and the fact that they met after death, makes you smile while a tear is running down your eye, right?

the part effect me was the death of jack,the old couple,possible death of rose at the end of the movie also the sinking.

the way third class was treated. this could be because i'm big on equality, but honestly. that and when the water's rushing in and the band just keeps playing...the beggining, when they show the old shot and merge the with the new, because it shows all the decay and what it once was.

the old woman telling her tale at the start was sad

Am a little confused, was she dreaming at the end about Titanic. Or was that her spirit going down to the ship. Since she has relations while not married, should't she go to hell then, if u belive in that stuff. Just a thought

and why did she drop that pendant

that must have cost a fortune nowadays

Several parts of the story which are all very closely linked are what upset me not only about the film but about the real sinking of the ship. Firstly, the scenes which take place below decks in the third class area of the ship. It's horrifying to imagine this giant ship filling with water and all those people trapped inside her, watching them flee to the ends of the corridors and watching the water steadily climb it's way up the corridors until it reaches the stairs cases where most of the third class passengers are trapped. Secondly would have to be seeing different parts of the ship sinking, it makes me think of how the ship must have decayed over the years without human knowledge of the decaying. You see areas of the ship such as the grand staircase as they flood with water and think about how that is the water that will detroy this ship one day. You see it under the water, still in a state of beauty, wishing that she could remain in that state of beauty forever, whether under the water or not. The whole story of the ship is upsetting and horrible to think about.

Its interesting to here different ppl's view on this, keep it up

ok, sad little admission here....since i was young my only real nightmare involved being trapped on a sinking ship (weird, huh?) the freaky part is alot of the images in the nightmares match well with the images of winslet and dicaprio being trapped (the water coming in and all) of note: had nightmare before film was even in theaters...
