Britannic can be keft out of this so concentrate on the first two.

Now am sure Olympic was launched in white to show of the size. She was only painted in her final colours untill later. So why do a see pictures where you can see the open promanade deck the patternless windows and no pattern port house the calling cards of Olympic but it is said to be Titanic. Was Titanic also going to look exactly like Olympic and not changed until fitting out. It would seem that Olympic has been painted white, then black, then re-painted white, then back to black again. I have a photo which shows Olympic during fitting out just after it's funnels where put in place so this was obviously some time after the launch, you can clearly see she is painted in total white. There is then another pic of olympic at launch where there is no doubt it is Olympic but she is in her final colours. The only way I can really show you what a mean is by showing you the pictures. If you wan't them I will gladly show them jsut send me a PM. But it would seem then that someone may have hand painted these pictures for some reason.

the reason the Olympic has two paint scemes i those photos is because when she came out of dry dock they had her just like the titanic but while she was getting the finishing touches on her ww1 broke out and they gutted her and made her into a med transport there for they panted her all white the photo yor seeing is before they but the red crosses on her i hope that helps

No am talkin about pre-war. Even pre- Titanics sinking. I think you miss understud, am talkin about Olympic at launch. Where you refering to Britannic. A was't talkin about her war colours.

She did serve prior to WW1 and was't gutted out as you put it until after Titanics sinking. In fact she did't go straight to military service, White star did't hand them over until a year later.

But you are completly correct about Britannic being gutted out.

yea your right i always get Olympic i always ge the Olympic confused with her younger sister the britanic but i've never seen her white could u send me the pics i've only seen her in her final paint scemes when they had her next to titanic

No she never sailed like that, because of the black and white camera's then, white was the best was to showcase the size. So yeah only for the press.

Titanic is the best documented of the three ships so it is little no wonder why u know more about her than the other's, but if you go and look at the other two it is a vey interesting rewarding exercise. At least for me anyway,
