Yes we knew that, but even though it was amaerican owned, she and her sister's where registered as British ships.

I heard there was a british ship called the ss minow johnson.

Well that's true, but he was only a share holder, so it was paid with British pounds aswell, probably more so, though a don't have the cost's with me

ok now i have found two storys on the ss on the live boats that the life boats had on them frist was that the captian of the carpathia had ss painted on the afyer the way he saw his crew acting after they came on to the ship. the other was that they but the ss on the life boats and not rms to honor the american compney that just baild out the white star line
