Film is made so it can appeal to the largest possible audience, Titanic needed romance, because that was what it was about, they needed some historical accuracy, and they needed some action, the part when the ship split in two, was extremely overdone it was nothing like that, the ship was at that angel, but she was far more submerged. It is just to make it more Hollywood, all films do it, Braveheart couldn’t be more historically inaccurate if they tried, was half expecting a space ship in it, but again its to make it easier to take in and appeal to more people hence, make more money.
