I don't really like cigarette smoke though . that would get real old after a while. the last time I was around someone who was smoking they flicked their cig ashes right into my mouth, and then they blew out all the smoke right in my face. I don't think they did in on purpouse, but still!!!Yuck!

The smoking rooms looked magnificent on Titanic. But the smoke would put me off from visiting the smoking rooms if I had a choice to go back in time and board the ship. (Well maybe just a quick visit to the smoking rooms)

Nearly everyone I know smokes. My mom and dad smoke (well, dad doesn't anymore), alot of my friends and co-workers smoke. But I can still go out with a bunch of smokers, with no problem once so ever. Of course, being (originally) from southern California, I'm not really suprised, as the air is full of smoke (ok, smog. Some days more than others), so I guess I'm used to it! LOL

As for Titanic's smoking rooms, I've seen only the 1st class (ok, it was Olympic's smoking room), but I really like the stain glass windows and fireplace - very nice!

I despise the smell of smoke, but I woulda loved to have played some cards in the 1st class smoking room. They were very well constructed and great looking from the pictures ive seen from Olympic's.

I honestly think that because of the Titanic ships are built a whole lot safer, like with the cruise ships they have to do a lifeboat drill everytime they leave a port. And there are Ice patrols so that another disaster happens like that.

By the way does anyone beleive in the mummy curse causing the Titanic, Empress of Ireland and the Lusitania to sink.... I am asking for an assignment

Yes, the Titanic disaster did have a major impact on the safety of ships.

Journalist W.T. Stead told a group of friends on the Titanic a ghost story involving a mummy. This story was repeated by the friends that did survive the sinking. Stead went down with Titanic, but the story was passed down and some actually believed it was fact. But it is in fact false.
