Ive supposidly, supposidly that is been on a ship that was once manned by pirates. I don't know if that counts as a ship or one of the new liners your talkin about but i would hope that one day i could go on a ship like the queen mary 2 or a ship like the titanic. My dad's friend owns a rather neat company which gets offered tickets for big things and so on forth. They actually got offered some tickets for the queen mary 2 when it was on its maiden voyage but my dad's friend couldn't attend. So hopefully when they build the queen victoria, my dad's friend might get tickets for me and my dad. I'm excitied at the prospect but i'm not getting my hopes up.

Alot of the ship building techniques have changed over the years. I recently saw a documentary on the building of QM2. Apparently the ship was constructed in several huge "modular blocks".
40-odd of these blocks (I can't remember the exact number) were then added together like Lego building blocks to form the entire ship as we know it. Each hull plate segment was cut by laser to the strictest specification. Steel quality was tested and it was amazing to see these different techniques come together. Truely an awesome task.

book is not always right is it? Besides if you look at the steel under a microscope, you can see that the chemical make up of the steel, ment it was fine. But to try build a ship like the Qm2 out of it. NO WAY.
