Maybe, Britannic tried it also, it kept going even after the insodent, but that was quite a diferent accident. Or intentional what ever is your view is about the Britannic.

it was both intentional and an accident. it doesn't matter wheter she struck a mine or got shot by a torpedo. the Central Powers meant for that to happpen. So for them it was intentional. it was an accident for the Allies because they didn't mean to sink the ship

It does matter, after the Germans torpedoed the Rms lusitania, with the loss of over 1000 lives, they singed a treaty not to fire on ship's like that. If the Germans did this, then they breached the treaty, and Britain would have the right to get them for it. But the Germans retaliated saying, she was carrying soldier's, and arms etc, which means they where in their right to fire. So it was a bit of tabel tennis with the blame game.

yes it matters but that wasn't my point. my point was that it was an accident for one side and an intentional attack for the other

Well yeah because Britain was alies with other countries you could say that if you wanted to. It was more of a UK loss than an alied loss, because the alies had other ship's did't they. We at that point only had a few ship's of substantual size, and Britannic was probably the biggest.

We where, it's just in the whole world at the time there where not many 'large ship's'. The war was a joint effort, that is my view,

well...you guys should have asked us that at the beginning of wwII. there's plenty of people now who would have been willing to give up some of our ships at Pearl Harbor. my neighbor actually fought in wwII and my great-uncle was a POW
