Oh, I'm sure there've been those that thought of it, but to actually do it would be incredibly impractical to the point of impossible. Britannic is big, and has been submerged since WWI, so it isn't going to be very sound. The equipment that'd be required would be mammoth and probably doesn't even exist. The cost involved would be tremendous. And for what? If it could be done, all you'd be left with is a useless hulk(!) - good for absolutely nothing.

So the real question is; why?

it was in 1912 when they could not even get down to the titanic.

But John Jacob Astors Son wanted to fill the titanic with ping pong balls and let it raise that way so he could recover his farthers body or a propper funeral but when his body was found this plan was abandoned Astor's body was recovered on Monday April 22 by the cable ship McKay-Bennett (#124):

NO. 124 - MALE - ESTIMATED AGE 50 - LIGHT HAIR & MOUSTACHE
CLOTHING - Blue serge suit; blue handkerchief with "A.V."; belt with gold buckle; brown boots with red rubber soles; brown flannel shirt; "J.J.A." on back of collar.

EFFECTS - Gold watch; cuff links, gold with diamond; diamond ring with three stones; £225 in English notes; $2440 in notes; £5 in gold; 7s. in silver; 5 ten franc pieces; gold pencil; pocketbook.

FIRST CLASS NAME-J.J.ASTOR

Can you imagine this ever working tho there were many many other ideas in 1912 about how to raise the ship.

Odd that some people are in two minds about owning a peice of the Titanic as well as leaving the wreck undisturbed...

I think it'd be cool, but it would be disturbing it. i guess i wasn't clear about that. It'd be cool and I'd really like it, but the ship should be left alone
