Well I started the thread so could you explain to me, my understanding was, when the S.O.S went out and Olympic went to help, but did not make it, in time.

I did't quite understand what you meant, but maybe it is because I'm tired,lol

This is off topic, but I read in one of my books that the Carapathia's top speed was 14 knots. After the titanic sank the capt. pushed it to 17 knots and recieved a medal of heroism for his efforts. just thought you'd like tto know.

How is it off topic, I am askin a question relevent to the initial post, which I made. I am asking for an explination from another member, who also, made reference to the initial post. So how the hell is it off topic?

i wasn't saying that you were off topic. you were wondering what the olympic did to get to the titanic and i was telling you what the carapathia did to get to the titanic. i've got the info you want somewhere. i'll try to dig it out

I was't wondering that, Olympic did not get there cause it was like 500 miles away, and could't get there fast enough. Carpathia was closer, but to slow,

I will let this go, but if you are quoting someone and say 'this is off topic' then it is little no wonder, you will be questioned.
