shes so beautiful and it looks like shes maried to a much older man.she played that free spirited girl role in titanic so well lol i guess theres no carry over in real life she doesent seem the same she has two kids doesent sound like a jack dawson like life.lol

yeah she was good, but i'd of thought that she would have been offered more predigeous roles in films after titanic alongside alot of male actors like tom cruise or george clooney but she didn't.
she is still a well-known actress but she could have went on to alot more. |

It may be that she has been trying to avoid with big co-stars. She did prefer staying out of the whole hollywood thing, as far as I know.

Yes Kate Winslet is the one who played Rose.
After Titanic she stayed away from the hollywood scene. She was actually offered many big name movies, one being Shakespear in Love which went to Gwyneth Paltrow and won her the Oscar. Recently though Kate has been "out there" more and has done movies such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind with Jim Carrey, Iris with Judi Dench, Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp and upcoming Romance and Cigarettes with James Gandolfini and Susan Surandon. |

Only the woman playing older Rose won for best supporting actress. No one else in the movie won for any acting, I don't even know if they were nominated in the first place.

None of the actors won an oscar for Titanic. The older lady (who played the older Rose) won a Golden Globe for her role but the Oscar for best supproting actress was won by Kim Basinger for L.A.Confidential.
I saw "The life of David Gale" over the Easter weekend in which Kate Winslet stars as a reporter covering the death-row execution of a man called David Gale (played by Kevin Spacey). Kate was absolutely brilliant in this role and the movie had some interesting twists and plots. Deffinately worth watching especially if you are a Kate Winslet fan.  |
