Hey, I know Molly Brown and the Countes of Rothes were lady's and all that. But what about Benjamin Guggenheim? (sorry if its spelled wrong) He went down with the ship, when he could have been put in a lifeboat. Weren't all the band members men? Didn't they go down with the ship?
No offence, but name 1 woman who went down with the ship of her own free will. (My apologys if there WAS one) Killian, |

Yes, the eight members of the Titanic band were all male. And they all died in the sinking. To see their pictures and learn more, click Titanic Band. As for females who went down of their own free will: #1 - Standing next to her elderly husband, Mrs. Isidor Straus remarked "We are old; we can best die together" and refused to be placed into a lifeboat. #2 - Miss Elizabeth Evans was sitting in a lifeboat filled with other women waiting to be lowered. A final head count revealed the boat capacity had been exceeded by one person. Miss Evans looked at the mother sitting next to her and said "You have children who need you, and I have none." Miss Evans then returned aboard the Titanic. She was only 25 when she drowned. There may be others, so I will continue to search. I obtained the above information at Titanic sacrifices |

I'M SORRY BUT THAT QUESTION HAS MADE ME MAD!!!
I think we all/most of us know the brave stories of Mrs. Ida Straus & Miss Elizabeth Evans so don't ever be so careless as to make another IDIOTIC remark like that!!!! |

Oh damn. I'm sorry. I forgot about those two. I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, really, sorry. I admit that WAS a stupid, sick question. I promise that I will never talk about something like that EVER again. I hope you can forgive me, or, if not, at least accept my apology.
Killian, p.s. I am really, really, sorry. p.p.s. I am totally sorry to have offended you all, and to have made you all mad. I still love the Titanic story beyond anythng in the whole world. I still believe that Ida Straus and Miss Evans were the two most brave on the ship. Once, again, please, please, forgive me. |
