Hello guys. I have just read a very intriging thing on the web. It said there was a norwegian whaler a few short miles away from the Titanic. It did not go to Titanics aid because the crew did not want to reveal their illegal secret. But by doing this they cost 1500 lives in doing so.
Is this true?

That whaler was the Samson, and there's overwhelming evidence that it was not in Titanic's area that night. Records show that it was in port (which one I can't remember) just a few days after the night Titanic went down - a port that would've been too far away for such a slow ship to reach so soon.

Even if it was in the area (which it wasn't), it was just a small ship and wouldn't've been able to handle 1,500+ people.

the Californian was also in the area. there's a chapter in my book "UNSINKABLE" The True Story Of The RMS Titanic. it talks about the Califronian and the eight white rockets.there's nothing in the book about the Samson as far as i know. what was it doing that was so illegal that it couldn't save some lives?

The ship was ent out for killing North Atlantic whales. You couldn't do that back then or now. They were afraid they'd get arrested (If Samson was in the area).

i just wrote this huge long thing yesterday morning and my computer frose just as i posted it. i wsas so mad that i just shut the computer off

what does that have to do with the other ship that was in sight of titanic's rockets????
i hate researching but i'd like to know if there were other ships near the titanic when it sank (or is it sunk??).

that's what we're talking about. if a ship is near enough to see the Titanic's rockets then she is obviously close enough to come to her aid
