Good Question......I would go to 2 places:
1) The Marconi Room, be cause that's where Jack Phillips spent most of his time and I truly admire Jack. 2) The boiler room area. |

First thing the pressure would kill us, but I would go into a first class stateroom and the grand staircase.

If I could go down there I would go straight to the stern because that is one part of the ship that is the least investigated for the simple fact that it is so raveged that it's hard to get inside her that and I would see just how many of the third class gates are closed and locked

The bridge you can see from one of the submersibles. Where I would like to visit, would be the Officers' Quarters on the portside, particularly Will Murdoch's First Officer's cabin...to see if he had a picture of his wife, Ada on the bedstand by his berth. That was where she last saw him alive, before she had to disembark from the ship to go ashore at the Southampton White Star Line dock, April 10th, 1912. MA |

It's mainly the personal effects of the people that make any
historic site more interesting; to be where they were, touch what they touched- to feel a connection to another time. I saw in Ghosts In The Abyss that I believe E Deck in the forward section still had paint visible on the walls leading past many staterooms; maybe those spaces are less ravaged and more intact. I would like to stand before one of the huge engines still standing upright on the ocean's bottom just to feel the scale of her power plant. Lastly, perhaps stand on her bow, against the curving railing, the first place the cold Atlantic consumed abovedecks. Great question DeepSeaDiver! |

I'd go to the stern and pay my respects to those lost souls. The stern isn't explored as much as the bow, and that was where those stranded onboard were until the end. Definately, the stern is my choice
May they all rest in peace. |
