I would have had a metallurgy test on the rivets and procured better ones and paid the workers by the hour not piecework and set higher safety standards and demanded they were followed to the letter. No one should have been injured let alone die in an accident building the ships at H&W shipyards. (15 men did die in total) that's 15 too many. That's really the first thing I would change, then the rivets and workers payment schedule.
It's neither fair or polite to degrade Capt. Smith or any of the owners or designers and builders that either died or lost their title in life as the result of the 'accident' because due to other circumstances beyond their control they in fact are not responsible or guilty.. it is my belief that others not in the picture intentionally sabotaged and caused the grave incident. In other words, they were murdered. |

Why is that? Are you getting to the conspiracy thing (switch) or something else?

I think I would change the board of trade regulation for the amount of lifeboats that a ship needed to carry depending on its tonnage...since the old version was way outdated. Which basically means I think they should have had more lifeboats... (duh lol). And perhaps cap off the watertight bulkheads and extend the double hull up the sides of the Titanic (which was later done on Olympic and Britannic).

TC why would u make her bigger, after all she was the biggest of the ships at the point. It would have cost more money and making her longer would have surely made her hit the iceberg much sooner. |

Screw Tonnage! Enough boats for 5% more than the capacity of the ship. Period. |

The tonnage isn't a bad idea, it did work for its time period but ships got so big so fast no-one thought about updating it apparently. Had this been updated to reflect these new gigantic liners perhaps Titanic would have had enough lifeboats to safe mostly everyone onboard or all.

1. I would put enough life boats for everyone on board and then some.
2. I would raise the bulkheads to go all the way up 3. The four propellars and the bigger rudder were good ideas. 4. I would make it manditory to stop once you recieve the first iceberg warning, and make it where the captain is to stay up when there is iceberg warnings. 5. I also like the idea baout chaining the binoculars to the crowsnest. 6. I also would abolish the idea of first class is better and therefore should come first. 7. On top of my lifeboat idea, I would put personal lifeboats in each room. (You know the kind that looks like a briefcase and are inflatable) 8. I would equip the ship with more and better water pumps. 9. Made the overall construction better, such as the rivets. |
