Just because Star Wars didn't win any Oscars doesn't mean it isn't a good movie.

Gladiator was fantastic.....it rekindled the whole epic films of the ancient super powers.

Troy
Alexander
lord of the rings (to an extent)
kingdom of heaven (same director)

Let's just say that Star Wars wasn't bad... just mediocre. It was okay, entertaining perhaps, but nothing classic or special about it...just mediocre...

What was so great about Gladitor? Alexander? Troy?

Lotr was the best trilogy ever!

Star Wars. 8 movies, biggest movie franchise ever. Do you see Gladiator with any of these? NO

I thought there were only 6 Star Wars movies. Not 8. Besides it is not an achievement that all the Star Wars movies (put together) could not even win half the amount of Oscars as did Titanic.

There have (to date) been around 19 cinematic/television productions based upon the Titanic tragedy. Perhaps we should compare the total revenue generated by all things "Titanic" and then compare it to the 6 cinematic versions of Star Wars and see which of the two generated the most income. But comparing the one single James Cameron's Titanic to all the Star Wars movies is a bit unfair.

May the force be with you...

PS: I think Gladiator in itself won more oscar nominations than all the combined Star Wars films. And so did The English Patient for that matter at the 1997 Academy awards. The list goes on and on... Even in it's entirety: The Star Wars saga might have generated alot more money, but not nearly as much acclaim as either abovementioned movies. If each of Lucas' films made as much money as Titanic did that would be a great accomplishment.

There were 8. 5 in the 70's-80's and three new ones.

And Gladiator was not a very interesting film.
Alexander, didn't get much hype.
Troy, would have been good except Brad Pitt was in it.

And can I ask you a question Clinton, have you even seen any of the Star Wars films? Because if you did, you would know what that line would actually be used for because you used it wrong.

Of course you may ask me a question.
Yes, I own all the Star Wars DVD's and I still stand by me oppinion that even though these films are an extravaganza of scope and computer generated wizardry, they are mediocre in plot and subplot. Don't take it so personal my young padiwan... hehe.

Besides I do believe that I used the line correctly for the purposes intended. After all, it did tick you off didn't it...
