I first got interested in Titanic when I was 4 years old!! It was mostly because the James Cameron movie came out. I watched the movie like all the time. After awhile though, I stopped watching or thinking about it all together. But then, once I hit 8th grade, I started to love it again. I read sooooo many books and still do! I'm always on the internet looking for more information about the Titanic! && When there's a show on about the Titanic I pretty much lose it & my parents always ask if there's something on about Titanic. So I've always been interested in Titanic!

Swell, so you are about 27 now I'm guessing? I've been interested since I was 11. I could probably tell people things about the ship they've never heard of! I was that into it. It's been 10 years or so since then, and I'm still much into the Titanic. Now more so than ever. It's a great thing to keep learning about.

Well, I have been interested in it since I saw that National Geographic special when I was about seven. So I guess its been about twenty years (of course, I did not study the history when I was a child as serious as I do now (when I have the time) ).

But as a kid, I remember doing science projects on Titanic and even writing to Dr. Ballard and getting his autographed picture.

MGY- Is "The Discovery of Titanic" by Dr. Robert Ballard???

Yes, it is the book that he wrote after finding the ship. I remember seeing him on "Good Morning America" promoting the book. Then, a few weeks later my father bought me the book when he was on a business trip.

When did you first become interested in the Titanic?

I first became interested when I first saw "Secrets of the Titanic", the National Geographic special when it premiered (I think in 1987). I only saw the last five minutes of it but I became facinated watching the underwater footage of the rusting bow and was forever hooked right there.

My Dad bought me my first book "The Discovery of the Titanic" when I was about nine, and I soon saw the movies, "SOS Titanic" and "Titanic" from 1953. As I got older my interest grew and grew, and I obtained more and more reading material and saw every other film made.

What is everyone else's experience? I would like to know!

Althought i was interested from the 1997 movie and the REAL HISTORY of Titanic I would have to say the same thing with MGY

As 10 year old I read a children's book about Titanic it made me interested, but I didn't really understand what it was all about before I watched Titanic (97) as 12 year old - Titanic just hit me. I've been interested ever since.

The Loss of the SS Titanic is a great book. Lawrence Beesley does a great job with it.
