It's annual. The TIS (Titanic International Society) are as well, and the ones sponsored by the Titanic Historical Society are bi-annual.

The pictures of the Queen Mary 2 are absolutely wonderful. For those of us who will never get to sail on her, it is a trip in photos.

Is there any current news/gossip on the ship, sorry to say, I have not been following her

That ship is so big (QM2) that it can't fit through some ports, etc.

I'm not sure. I just found that out today about being too big, but I can try to find the answer for you.

Here is a comparison on QM2 and Titanic:

Queen Mary 2 - On the Scales

QM2 (Q.P.M.V.) Variable Titanic (R.M.S)
150 000 Gross Tonnage. 46 300
1135 feet Length (front to back) 883 feet
135 feet Beam (the width of a ship) 95 feet
3,874 Total passengers & crew. 3,547
One. (State Room sizes differ.) Classes. Three.
5 plus star ultra deluxe to luxury accommodation. Rating. 5 plus star deluxe to 2 star bulk Spartan accommodation.

As you can see the QM2 is far bigger than the Titanic and much more luxurious. There is often an idea that the Titanic is the "Worlds Biggest Ship" , however that Statement is wrong, as Titanic was overtaken in size as early as 1913 with the launch of the Imperator. The Titanic is small compared to some of the ships today, she was the biggest ship in "1912".
For many years the longest ocean liner was the S.S. Norway (ex. France). Queen Mary 2 will be the longest, widest, tallest and heaviest passenger vessel ever created. At almost 3.5 times the weight of Titanic, Queen Mary 2 will be the undisputed "World's Largest Liner".

I got this info. from http://chriscunard.cjb.net/

The length of the Panama Canal is approximately 51 miles. A trip along the canal from its Atlantic entrance would take you through a 7 mile dredged channel in Lim363n Bay. The canal then proceeds for a distance of 11.5 miles to the Gatun Locks. This series of three locks raise ships 26 metres to Gatun Lake. It continues south through a channel in Gatun Lake for 32 miles to Gamboa, where the Culebra Cut begins. This channel through the cut is 8 miles long and 150 metres wide. At the end of this cut are the locks at Pedro Miguel. The Pedro Miguel locks lower ships 9.4 metres to a lake which then takes you to the Miraflores Locks which lower ships 16 metres to sea level at the canals Pacific terminus in the bay of Panama. A pictorial view of the canals route can be seen below.

I got this from http://www.eclipse.co.uk/~sl5763/panama.htm#The%20Construction

I don't know how true the facts are on the last website.
